New Vande Bharat train launched

In an important development, India’s fifth Vande Bharat train was launched on November 11, 2022. It will operate on the Mysore-Benga­lu­ru-Chennai route. It is part of the 75 Vande Bharat Express trains expected to be operational across India by the end of 2023. The Vande Bharat Express train is manufactured in the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, as part of the Make in India programme. It is an indigenously designed and manufactured semi-high-speed, self-propelled train that is expected to be the next major leap for IR in terms of speed and passenger convenience since the introduction of Rajdhani trains.
