MoRTH approves and sanctions funds for two road projects

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved and sanctioned funds for two road projects – the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Four Laning Road Project (NH-344B) and the Balikuda-Mulakani Two Laning Road Project (NH-55). Funds worth Rs 15,530.7 million have been sanctioned for the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Four Laning Road Project. It involves the four laning of a 48.62 km long road stretch connecting Phagwara to the Hoshiarpur bypass from km -0.6 to km 46.9 on NH-344B and from km 7.78 to km 8.9 on NH-344A in Punjab. The project is being implemented in hybrid annuity mode (HAM) under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. The construction period for the project is two years. For the Balikuda-Mulakani Two Laning Road Project, funds worth Rs 5,115.4 million have been sanctioned. The project involves two laning with paved sho­ul­ders of a 34.48 km long road stretch connecting Balikuda to Mulakani on NH-55 in Cuttack and Jagatsingpur districts of Odisha.
