MoEFCC grants ToR for two projects at Dighi Port, Maharashtra

The MoEFCC has granted the terms of reference (ToR) for two projects at Dighi port on November 7, 2022. The projects are the construction of balance work of Dighi port and development of a master plan for the expansion of Dighi port. The first project involves the construction of one berth of 325 metre quay length on the north side, construction of 1,400 metre breakwater on the south side and reclamation of approximately 27 hec­tares area behind the berth on the north side along with development of wastewater treatment plants, an electrical substation, a utility corridor, storm water drainage network, firefighting system, internal road connectivity, etc. The total project cost is Rs 15.7 billion. The second project involves the expansion of the total quay length of the multipurpose berth (north side: 1,950 metres; south side: 4,250 metres), two single-point moorings, cargo handling (116.35 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa), breakwater length (3,200 metres on the north side and reclamation bund of 7,100 metres behind the berths), total reclamation (304 hectares), total area of the project (304 hectares), etc.
