EKI launches India’s first Rs 10 billion climate impact fund to develop GHG mitigation projects

EKI Energy Services Limited (EKI) has announced that it will invest up to Rs 2 billion as part of a Rs 10 billion ($125 million) climate impact fund that it has launched in partnership with Impact Capital Asset Manage­ment Private Limited, a Singapore-based fund management company. The Rs 10 billion fund is India’s first ever climate impact fund. EKI will invest up to Rs 2 billion in this fund in a phased manner with an aim to empower the greenhouse gas mitigation projects across the country and internationally. The fund will specifically focus on high impact community development projects such as clean cooking through the large-scale deployment of energy efficient cooking stoves, water filtration systems and energy-saving lighting solutions such as LED bulbs and waste management, to meet its objectives of improving lives and greening the planet.
