APSEZL forms subsidiary for implementation of Tajpur deep-sea port project

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZL) has formed a wholly ow­n­ed subsidiary, Tajpur Sagar Port Limited, for the implementation of the Tajpur deep-sea port project. The project involves the development, operations and maintenance of a greenfield port at Tajpur in Purba Med­ini­pur district of West Bengal on a design-build-finance-operate-transfer basis in the public-private partnership mode for a concession period of 99 years at an estimated cost of Rs 72.05 billion. It will be im­plemented in two phases with Phase I involving the construction of six berths and dredging for creating an 18.5 km long shipping channel while Phase II involves the construction of the remaining three berths.
