The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to set up a greenfield airport at Chhapda in Dewas district. The construction of this airport has received preliminary approval from the state government. Moreover, the land for the airport has already been identified and 11,000 acres of it will be acquired. It has been decided that the length of the Rewa and Ujjai airstrips will be increased. This project will help in the expansion of air services across the state and also promote tourism.
