2 DSVs launched by Indian Navy

On September 22, 2022, the Indian Navy launched two indigenously designed and built diving support vessels (DSVs), Nistar and Nipun, in Visakhapatnam. These vessels were built by Hindustan Shipyard Limi­ted. These DSVs will be equipped with an array of complex diving support systems and a deep submergence rescue vessel will be deployed for deep-sea diving and submarine rescue operations. Furthermore, the ships will be capable of conducting search and rescue operations and carrying out helicopter operations at sea.
