IR approves proposal for redevelopment of three railway stations

The union cabinet has approved IR proposal for the redevelopment of three railway stations. These are the New Delhi Railway Station, Ahme­dabad Rail­way Station and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai. The three projects are expected to entail a total investment of Rs 100 billion. Meanwhile, redevelopment work is in progress at 199 stations. Of these, tenders have been issued for 47.
