The Union Government inaugurated the East-West corridor under Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Rail Project Phase I on September 30, 2022. With this, the entire 21 km East-West corridor from Thaltej Gam to Vastral Gam is now operational. The project involves the development of a 40.03 km-long metro rail corridor connecting the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar at an investment of Rs 125 billion.
