The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned funds worth Rs 283.1 million for the acquisition of land in four villages of Haridwar district for the Deoband (Muzaffarnagar)-Roorkee new line project. The project involves the construction of a 30 km long new broad gauge line connecting Deoband (Muzaffarnagar) to Roorkee in Uttar Pradesh, at an estimated investment of Rs 8.23 billion.
