The Tenth Annual Integrated Rating and Ranking of Power Distribution Utilities has been released. The scope of the exercise has been broadened to cover 71 utilities. A total of 12 discoms have made it to A+ grade. Out of these 12 discoms, six are state-run utilities – four from Gujarat, one each from Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Haryana; the other six are private utilities – two each from Gujarat and Maharashtra, and one each from Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Further, the first Consumer Service Rating of Discoms for 2020-21 has been launched and it captures the current status of consumer services across various discoms, with an intention of sharing the best practices of top performing discoms. In addition, Bharat eSmart Mobile Application (BeSMA), a free-to-use mobile app for prepaid smart meters, has been launched.
