Highway construction slows to 20.43 km/day during April-June

During April-June 2022, the construction of national highways slowed down to 20.43 km per day. As of July 2022-23, MoRTH has constructed 2,493 km of national high­ways, compared to 2,930 km in July 2021-22. During April-July 2022, only 1,975 km of road projects were awarded, compared to 2,434 km during the same period in the previous year. The official highway construction goal for the current fiscal year is 12,000 km.
