Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZL) has signed an agreement with the Navkar Corporation to acquire the inland container depot (ICD) Tumb in Gujarat’s Vapi at a value of Rs 8.5 billion. The agreement was signed on August 16, 2022. The deal comprises the acquisition of the operational ICD with a capacity to handle 0.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units. The Tumb ICD has a private freight terminal with four rail handling lines connected with the western dedicated freight corridor (DFC) and has custom-notified land and bonded warehouse facilities. The associated 129 acres of land provide an additional expansion path to increase capacity and cargo in the near future as additional industrial corridors and logistic parks get added along these DFC routes.
