Over 50 per cent rural households achieved tap water supply under JJM

Over 50 per cent of rural households in India have achieved access to tap water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The central government aims to provide safe drinking water through individual tap connections to all households in rural India by 2024. As per Jal Jeevan Mission data, till June 10, 2022, around 96.5 million households (50.38 per cent) across the country have tap water connections. At the state level, Goa, Telan­ga­na and Haryana have achieved 100 per cent connectivity to all households. In addition, the union territories of Puducherry, Andaman & Nico­bar Islands, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu have provided 100 per cent households with tap water connections.
