The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways approved funds worth Rs 13.37 billion for construction of the Jammu-Akhnoor Four Laning Road Project (NH-144A) on July 6, 2022. The project involves four-laning and upgradation of the 35 km road stretch from Jammu to Akhnoor on the National Highway (NH)-144A in Jammu & Kashmir. National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is implementing the project on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
