Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has proposed two Metro Neo stretches – a 6 km long Thripunithura-Kakkanad (Infopark) corridor and a 4 km long MG Road-Menaka-Park Avenue Road-Hospital Road-MG Road corridor – under the Kochi Metro Project. Metro Neo is a rubber tyre-based articulated bus system, which will draw power from an overhead electric conductor. It will have a dedicated elevated right of way to ensure uninterrupted mass transit of commuters. The development of such a corridor along the road will cost about Rs 350 million per km.
