The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the implementation of Phase I of the Dholera (Federal) International Airport project. The project is likely to be completed in 48 months at an estimated cost of Rs 13.05 billion. It is being implemented by Dholera International Airport Company Limited, which is a joint venture (JV) company of the Airports Authority of India, the Gujarat government and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust, holding equity in the ratio of 51:33:16. Passenger traffic and cargo traffic are expected to grow from 0.3 million passengers per annum (mppa) to 2.3 mppa and from 20,000 tonnes to 0.27 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) respectively, over a period of 20 years.
