According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), air passenger traffic is expected to reach 83 per cent of the pre-pandemic level in 2022. The aviation sector is expected to regain profitability after losing roughly $200 billion over the last two years. Air passenger levels declined by 60 per cent in 2020 and 50 per cent in 2021. IATA represents 290 airlines, which constitute 83 per cent of air travel.
