Air passenger traffic to reach 83 per cent of pre-pandemic level

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), air passenger traffic is expected to reach 83 per cent of the pre-pandemic level in 2022. The aviation sector is expected to regain profitability after losing ro­ughly $200 billion over the last two years. Air passenger levels dec­li­ned by 60 per cent in 2020 and 50 per cent in 2021. IATA represents 290 airlines, which constitute 83 per cent of air travel.
