State allocates funds for various metro projects in Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated funds worth Rs 26.5 billion for various metro projects. Funds worth Rs 7.47 billion have been allocated for the Kanpur Metro Rail Project Phase I, Rs 5.97 billion for the Agra Metro Rail Project Phase I, Rs 13.06 billion for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Project and Rs 1 billion for metro projects in other cities like Varanasi and Gorakhpur. The metro projects are being implemented by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation and the RRTS project is being implemented by National Capital Region Transport Cor­poration Limited.
