Work on eight apron bays completed at Bhubaneswar airport

The construction work on eight apron bays under the Bhubaneswar airport upgradation project has been completed. The bays will be used for parking of eight Code C aircrafts. The project involves the upgradation of Biju Patnaik International Airport at Bhubaneswar in Odisha at an investment of Rs 2.89 billion. It includes the construction of a parallel taxiway, expansion of the runway from the existing length of 9,000 feet to 10,000 feet and construction of a new air traffic control tower along with imp­ro­vement in the radars of the air navigation system. It also entails the construction of new terminals and renovation of old terminals with new tools. A commercial hub covering an area of 60 acres will also be cons­tru­cted in the airport area.
