Railway Board to have new unit for Gati Shakti master plan

In a bid to regulate the administration of the Railways Board, a new arm has been constituted for overseeing the implementation of projects under the Gati Shakti Master Plan. Reportedly, the Gati Shakti Directorate of In­dian Railways will be headed by an official at the grade of additional member. The execution and implementation of the Gati Shakti program­me’s railway portion will be prioritised by this directorate. Gati Shakti was laun­ched by the Government of India to reduce the logistic cost and en­hance the export competitiveness of the country with an estimated investment of Rs 100 trillion.
