BPCL to discontinue all the activities associated with its disinvestment

All activities related to the sale of the government’s share in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), including the use of the data room, are being terminated. Recently, the centre terminated the current expression of interest process for the strategic divestment of BPCL. The centre had intended to sell its whole 53 per cent stake in the state-owned refiner, but cancelled the sale due to the incapability of most bidders to participate in the privatisation.
