Adani buys Holcim assets for $10.5 billion

In one of the largest acquisitions ever made by an Indian group, the Adani Group has agreed to purchase Ambuja Cements and ACC Limited for $10.5 billion (Rs 800 billion). The Adani Group has agreed to acquire 63.19 per cent of Ambuja Cements and 54.53 per cent of ACC via an offshore special purpose vehicle (SPV). The value of the Holcim stake and the open offer consideration for Ambuja Cements and ACC made by the Adani Group makes this transaction the Adani Group’s largest purchase ever, and India’s largest infrastructure and materials acquisition ever. The acquisition will enable the Adani Group to surpass Aditya Birla Group’s UltraTech Cement Limited as India’s second-largest cement producer.
