GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited has received a letter of confirmation from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) for extending the term of the concession agreement to operate the Hyderabad International Airport for a further period of 30 years from March 23, 2038 up to March 22, 2068. This extension pertains to the concession agreement dated December 20, 2004. The airport was first inaugurated in March 2008 in the state of Telangana with an initial capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (mppa). Currently, it is undergoing major expansion, following which the capacity will be enhanced to 34 mppa.
