GMR to continue operations at Hyderabad airport for 30 years

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited has received a letter of confirmation from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) for extending the term of the concession agreement to operate the Hyderabad International Air­port for a further period of 30 years from March 23, 2038 up to March 22, 2068. This extension pertains to the concession agreement dated Dec­em­ber 20, 2004. The airport was first inaugurated in March 2008 in the state of Telangana with an initial capacity of 12 million passengers per an­num (mppa). Currently, it is undergoing major expansion, following which the capacity will be enhanced to 34 mppa.
