The MoPSW has laid the foundation stone for a roll-on-roll-off (ro-ro) facility at Cochin port in Kerala on April 30, 2022. The project is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 110.6 million, with 100 per cent funding from the Government of India under the Sagarmala programme. It is scheduled to be completed in nine months. The new ro-ro facility will be developed between berth Q1 and the south coal berth on the Mattancherry channel in Cochin port.
