Indian airports to witness total number of domestic and international passengers return to pre-COVID levels by end of FY2023

According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Indian airports could witness the total number of domestic and international passengers return to pre-Covid levels by the end of financial year 2023. AAI has estimated a total of 199 million passengers for financial year 2022. Its forecast in­dicates that the traffic could be almost at pre-Covid levels by the end of financial year 2023. With effect from March 27, 2022, India has remov­ed restrictions on international flights. Various Indian airports could see passenger numbers rise to 448 million by financial year 2025 as compared to 341 million in financial year 2020.
