CERC approves procedure for short term open access in ISTS through NOAR

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved the procedure for short-term open access (STOA) in the interstate transmission system (ISTS) through the National Open Access Registry (NOAR). The NOAR will be a common electronic platform for facilitating STOA in ISTS and will provide a single-point electronic interface for all the stakeholders, availing STOA in ISTS including short-term customers, state distribution utilities, state/central/independent power producer, trading licensees, power exchanges, the national load despatch centre (LDC), regional LDCs, state LDCs and regional power committees. The procedure will apply to all the applications including standing clearances made for scheduling of bilateral and collective transactions by availing STOA at the interstate level.
