Maryada Purshottam Sriram airport construction work starts

The Airports Authority of India has started construction work on Maryada Purshottam Sriram Airport in Ayodhya. The first phase of the project, for which Rs 1.5 billion has been allocated, will reportedly be completed in one and half to two years. In the first phase, a 2,250 metre runway for ATR-72 aircraft has to be constructed. The airport will be constructed in three phases, and a total of around 550 acres of land will be required.
