Government plans to install 800,000 mobile towers across the country by 2024

The government has announced plans to add around 800,000 new mobile towers in the country over the next two years, ahead of the 5G network roll-out. This move by the government aims at increasing the current tower strength by over two times. The move is coupled with the plan to ensure that nearly three out of four towers are connected through optic fibre to increase their data carrying capacity.
