Andhra Pradesh government planning to develop ports and waterways

In Andhra Pradesh, the development of three ports, Bhavanapadu, Mac­hili­­patnam and Ramayapatnam, and nine fishing harbours will be undertaken, entailing an investment of Rs 180 billion. The state government plans to develop ports and waterways, strengthen the telecom sector with a fibre cable network, find new ways to improve power generation, distribution, connect regional airways to ports under the UDAN scheme and interlink roads under the Bharatmala scheme, and expand freight transport systems to lower transportation costs. The multimodal transport cargo hubs and expansion of natural gas supply will help the state achieve industrial and economic growth.
