Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has achieved financial closure for its upcoming 6 mtpa refinery expansion project. NRL is pursuing a mega integrated refinery capacity expansion project to treble its refining capacity from 3 mtpa to 9 mtpa at a cost of Rs 280.26 billion. To fund the project, the company has tied up with a consortium of 12 lenders led by the State Bank of India (SBI) for a project debt of Rs 189.04 billion. As part of the project, the company is also laying a crude oil pipeline of 1,640 km from Paradip, Odisha, to Numaligarh along with a crude oil import terminal at Paradip for the receipt of imported crude.
