CCI approves acquisition of shareholding in Air India by Talace

On December 20, 2021, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) app­ro­ved the acquisition of shareholding in Air India by Talace Private Limi­ted, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. The proposed combina­tion envisages the acquisition of 100 per cent equity share capital of Air India Limited and Air India Express Limited, and 50 per cent equity share capital of Air India Airport Services Private Limited by Talace. In October 2021, Talace won the bid to acquire the debt-laden airline.
