Union cabinet approves USOF scheme for providing 4G services in 7,287 villages across five states

The union cabinet has approved the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) scheme for providing mobile services in 7,287 uncovered villages in 44 districts across Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maha­rashtra and Odisha. The estimated cost of implementation is Rs 64.66 billion, including operational expenses for five years, and the project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
