TRAI has floated a consultation paper on “Tariff-related issues to SMS and cell broadcast alerts disseminated through the common alerting protocol (CAP) platform during disasters and non-disasters”. Stakeholder views have been sought on the tariff for SMSs or cell broadcasts disseminated by telecom service providers through the CAP platform during disasters and non-disasters. TRAI has invited written comments on the consultation paper by December 1, 2021.
