Third rake of Vande Bharat to be operational by 2022

The third rake of the Vande Bharat Express is expected to be operational by March 2022. At least five Vande Bharat train shells are at the final sta­ges of construction. The electrics will reportedly be installed in a few mon­ths. At present, IR operates two Vande Bharat trains, one between New Delhi and Varanasi and the other between New Delhi and Katra. the Inte­gral Coach Factory is designing and manufacturing the Vande Bharat ex­press, commonly known as Train 18. This semi-high-speed intercity electric multiple unit train is a part of the government’s Make in India initiative.
