Government to reorganise companies under MoR

The government is planning to reorganise companies under the Ministry of Railways (MoR), which will result in the development of a single PSU to manufacture rolling stock and locomotives. The present plan is to create a single PSU that will house all the eight production units of IR. While the factories may stay independent for the time being, their operations will be overseen by a single organisation. The reorganisation of the railway companies is being considered as part of an effort to professionalise the railways’ operations and make them self-sustaining.
