DoT has fixed December 31, 2022 as the deadline for transitioning to the new IP address, IPv6. Internet service providers have to customise their networks as well as change modems and routers at customer premises for services to IPv6. Government organisations have been mandated to complete the transition to IPv6 latest by June 30, 2022.
