On September 28, 2021, the Director General of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger flights till October 31, 2021. However, all international cargo operations and scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the relevant authority on a case-to-case basis. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has removed all restrictions on domestic flight movements, and airlines will be able to operate at 100 per cent capacity from October 18, 2021. In September 2021, the government allowed airlines to increase their capacity from 72.5 per cent to 85 per cent. However, the government is yet to remove the fare caps.
