On October 7, 2021, NHAI announced its target of awarding 6,000 km of Bharatmala Pariyojana projects in financial year 22. The projects, worth Rs 2.5 trillion, are expected to receive a lot of private investment as the hybrid annuity model gains more popularity. Most of the greenfield projects will be announced towards the end of the year.
