IOCL has launched smart liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders in Patna, Bihar, which will allow customers to plan their next refill in advance. These cylinders, otherwise known as Indane composite cylinders, are made of composite fibre material, allowing consumers to transparently verify the quantity of LPG supplied. Moreover, since it is made of high density polyethylene, a composite cylinder will not rust like conventional steel cylinders. The price of gas will remain the same, but the difference in cylinder cost can be recovered through fees.
