Dwarf container train flagged off from JNPT

MoPSW flagged off the dwarf container train service from JNPT on September 20, 2021. With this, the first consignment of laden dwarf containers from the dwarf container depot at the port was moved by train to the inland container depot at Kanpur. JNPT is expected to profit steadily from the implementation of the dwarf container train services, as the rail movement of export-import (exim) cargo through double-stacked dwarf containers would offer a competitive cost advantage to the exim community, resulting in an increase in port cargo traffic via the rail route.
