Domestic air passenger traffic witnesses 5.44 per cent growth to around 7.1 million in September 2021

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, around 7.1 million domestic passengers travelled by air in September 2021, 5.44 per cent higher than the 6.7 million recorded in August 2021. While IndiGo carried 3.97 million passengers in September (a 56.2 per cent share of the domestic market), SpiceJet flew 0.6 million passengers (a 8.5 per cent share of the market). Meanwhile, Air India, Go First, Vistara and AirAsia India carried 0.85 million, 0.58 million, 0.61 million and 0.41 million pass­engers, respectively, in September 2021. The occupancy rates for Spice­Jet, IndiGo, Vistara, Go First, Air India and AirAsia India were 78.8 per cent, 73.6 per cent, 72.4 per cent, 74.1 per cent, 63.7 per cent and 68 per cent, respectively.
