Agreement signed to commence survey works under Munger sewerage project

Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and EMS Infracon Private Limited have signed an agreement to commence survey works for the development of the Munger sewerage project. The project involves the development of a sewerage scheme for Munger town in Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 billion under the National Ganga River Ba­sin Project (NGRBP). The Government of India has received financing from the World Bank for the NGRBP. The scope of work includes the design and construction of a sewage treatment plant (STP) with a capacity of 30 million litres per day (mld), a main pumping station with a capacity of 45 mld, and five intermediate pumping stations as well as all appurtenant structures and allied works; survey and review of the designs, redesigning where necessary; and construction of a new underground sewerage network of about 167.23 km including trenchless lines at Munger town in Bihar. It also covers operation and maintenance for a period of 15 years.
