The National Mission for Clean Ganga approves development of interception and diversion, and STP works for rejuvenation of six river stretches in Uttarakhand

The executive committee of the National Mission for Clean Ganga has approved development of interception and diversion, and sewage treatment plant (STP) works for the rejuvenation of six river stretches in Uttarakhand – Bhela, Dhela, Kichha, Kosi, Nandhore and Pilakhar. The project involves construction of nine STPs and tapping of 17 nalas, which will be intercepted and diverted to nine STPs to be constructed under the project for a total treatment capacity of 30.3 million litres per day (mld). It will cover six polluted river stretches in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand.
