European Investment Bank approves proposal to provide funds for Agra metro Phase I

The European Investment Bank has approved the proposal to provide funds worth Rs 42.56 billion for Phase I of the Agra metro rail project. With this, the tendering process for the underground stretch of the priority section (Taj East Gate-Jama Masjid) is expected to commence soon. The Agra metro project involves the development of a 30 km long metro rail system in the city, at an investment of Rs 83.79 billion.
