Two mobile scanners inaugurated at JNPT’s terminals

JNPT inaugurated two mobile X-ray scanners at the Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal and APM Terminals Mumbai (APMT) on June 25, 2021. These scanners will help enhance efficiency and considerably reduce import dwell time owing to independent scanning of import containers. Three mobile container scanners – one each for the three terminals of JNPT, namely, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal, DP World and APMT – were procured through the Indian Ports Association and installed by the port at a total project cost of Rs 1.01 billion. Of these, one scanner was rolled out for operation on March 30, 2021.
