The Ministry of Coal (MoC) has received technical bids from 34 companies for 19 of the 67 coal mines in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh that have been offered in the second tranche of commercial coal mine auctions. The maximum number of four bids has been submitted by Aurobindo Realty and Infrastructure Private Limited. Other bidders are Vedanta Limited, Adani Power Limited, Adhunik Power and Natural Resources Limited, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, and Rungta Mines Limited. The Burakhap Small Patch coal mine in Jharkhand received the highest number of bids of five. The auction process was launched by the MoC on March 25, 2021.
