Union cabinet approves implementation of Bengaluru metro Phase 2A, 2B        

The union cabinet has approved the implementation of the Bengaluru metro rail project – Phase 2A (KR Puram-Silk Board corridor) and Phase 2B (Bengaluru airport corridor). Phase 2A of the Bengaluru metro involves the development of a 19.75 km long metro rail network from Krishna Raja Puram (KR Puram) to Silk Board in the city. A total of 13 stations have been proposed under the same. Phase 2B of the Bengaluru metro involves the development of a metro rail system, spanning a length of 38.44 km, connecting Nagawara, Hebbal and Bengaluru airport. The work on both phases is expected to be completed in 54 months. The project entails an investment of Rs 147.88 billion.
