IR inducts 100th WAG 12-B

IR has inducted the 100th 12,000 horsepower WAG 12-B in its fleet. It is manufactured by Madhepura Electric Locomotive Private Limited. The locomotives are built under the Make in India initiative, and are playing a key role in revolutionising freight movement in the country. They are expected to help decongest the saturated tracks by allowing faster, safer and heavier freight trains to move across the country, and improve the loading capacity.
