NPCIL plans a capex of Rs 180 billion in 2021-22

Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited has planned a capital expenditure of Rs 180 billion on ongoing projects for the financial year 2022. Around 30 per cent of the capex will funded through through internal accruals and central government budgetary support, and 70 per cent through long-term borrowings. The major ongoing projects at present are two 1,000 MW units (Units 3 and 4) at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu, four 700 MW units at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS–Units 7 and 8) and the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station, (Units 3 and 4), along with small investments in Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana (2×700 MW). The first pour of concrete for the construction of two more 1,000 MW units (Units 5 and 6) at Kudankulam is expected to happen this year. The 700 MW unit of KAPS is expected to begin operations in September 2021.
